The Flexinol® – 0.012in. Diameter (1 Foot) is a nickel-titanium alloy wire designed for linear actuators, capable of flexing and contracting when exposed to specific heat or electrical current. This shape memory wire transitions between a malleable martensitic form and a rigid austenite form, enabling it to recover its original shape with significant force. It can be annealed to adopt new shapes, which it will retain upon reheating or reapplying current.
*Note: These are the “HT” type wires.
